End of the Year Teacher Treat

Cupcake jars seem to be all the rage lately. I just couldn't resist trying to make my own little version. I knew right away these would make a fabulous little treat for my kids teachers. They were so easy and so tasty! Plus they are packaged perfectly to enjoy without the mess of a regular cupcake:)

The hardest part of this project is deciding what flavors you want to play with. I decided on chocolate cupcakes and peanut butter frosting, YUM! I thought about making it all from scratch... yeah right. This is the last week of school and I have four kids. I used my favorite boxed cake mix and I totally cheated on the frosting, (mixed vanilla frosting and some peanut butter together...WAA LAH, gourmet frosting.

So if you want to make some of these here is what you do:

1. Go and get yourself some cute little jars with lids. Mine are Kerr brand, half pint size.
2. Make cupcakes, but do not use the papers in your cupcake pan, just spray them with cooking spray.
3. Pop them out of the pan, cool and then freeze them.
4. Next make, or buy some frosting and put it in a Ziploc bag, cut the tip off and pipe it into the bottom of the jar.
5. Take your frozen cupcakes and slice them in half horizontally.
6. Layer cupcakes and frosting.
7. Add the lid and ring and start decorating!
8. Cut a circle out of cute paper for the top, (2.5 in.)
9. Add a ribbon, tag, spoon and any other embellishents you like.
10. Eat or Share.... these can also be frozen for a later date.
